Misleading information on contract details for upgrade

Client complaint logged with MTN of poor/terrible and misleading information provided. I visited the MTN Stellenbosch Square branch (Robin Terhoven) on 11 Feb 2017. I request and upgrade after the staff at the store indicated that the contract to be eligible for an upgrade. An amount of R800 was paid to perform the upgrade, however after the third visit and continuous system downtime the personnel indicated that the contract is not due for an upgrade. This was misleading information given to pay additional money into the account knowing they can't upgrade the phone. We are senior citizens and are exposed to the advise of the personnel at the stores. The current device was an old ancient device given at the start of the contract and the contract was misleading not indicating the device name/type or any reference to a device on the contract. This device is giving constant issues and we were advised of insurance on the contract which is also not visible on the contract details. This device is out of order and send in for reapairs before and still not working, hence the request for an upgrade was done.

I'm out of pocket of R800, unusable phone and 2 consultants of MTN pulling up their shoulders. The consultants now take the stance that I have misunderstood and the information provided was incorrect.
