Misleading information and incorrect billing

I renewed my data contract with MTN earlier this year. MTN has not provided me with any itemised billing for my contract - which should be a free service to me.

My bills fluctuate on a monthly basis due to incorrect information being supp**** on the balance enquiry number. Last month my bill went up to almost R1000. This raised the alarm bells so I started keeping screen shots of the balance enquiry as proof. On the 19th of April, after using my internet sim, my balance stated 400mb remaining. The next day I am billed an amount of over R2100!! This is completely unacceptable and misleading to the customer.

I have submitted an email to [Email Removed] regarding the above on the 23/04/2015. Up till today I have received no response to my email dispute.

Hello SRamlall,

Thank you for your post.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and assure you that it is not our intention to displease you.

Kindly be advised that the reason why your bill is high it is because you were upgrade to an open line which means when you deplete 500MB we start charging you an out of bundle rate for your internet connections and to resolve this you need to activate a usage limit which will allow you to top up with airtime once you finish your 500MB.

Please note that we tried calling you to setup your usage limit.

Kindly send an email to *** and request a usage limit and your itemised billing .Please provide them with the following information for security check

MTN Pin:
Id number
Name of your bank
Address
Work tel number

Regards
Lebo
