Misleading information

I have been calling mtn about my account about several issues l have but non were taken into account. I had asked that mtn to should stop my data usage only up to l have used the free data and it was confirmed that it will be done this was some time in 2015 but the bill kept going high, everytime l call l get a different explanation from each consultant, the latest was on the 23 December 2015 when l asked to be migrated to prepaid l was told it will take 5 working days, today 14 Jan 16 l call to find out whats going on, l am told the migration cannot happen due to outstanding amount. Why was l not told this first time l asked for migration. MTN again tells me l owe amount for July which l fail to understand how they collected Aug-Nov. The service is really not satisfactory all this proves that MTN only cares about revenue all other things are ignored. I do feel that all these amounts l am expected to pay is day light *******. MTN is doing all this in the name of listing my name should l not pay them back. I again asked to pay in cash l did get a confirmation that l am removed from being a debit order customer but l do not trust mtn, l am waiting for next month to see if its true

Hello loveylesese,

Thank you for your post.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.

We do pick up that you have called on on the 1-12-2015 to confirm with the agent the term date. Note at this time the invoice for January has been closed already.

We do pick up that the sim card has been used until 1-1-2016. The debit orders returned unpaid since November month, the account balance is now R 2,227.64. Please make the payment to clear the account and to convert the number to prepaid. The debit order has been cancelled.

Note that the system bill the account in arrears and you received the data and airtime in advance.

Prepaid migration cannot be done if the account is in arrears or not as yet cancelled. Prepaid migration can be done a day after the contract expires, please note that all data and airtime need to be used up once the prepaid migration is done all left on the sim card will be lost.

Kind Regards,

Alice van der Merwe
