Migrating to Prepaid

My contract was expiring so I contacted the call centre 30 days prior to give notice of my intent to migrate to prepaid. I was informed that notice is no longer required and to call back 30 days later. I was nervous that the story might change and so asked for the email address to send written notice to anyway. I did this and received a reply saying notice was not required and I should call on my termination date (Sunday). I called on Sunday and was told that retentions didn't work on Sunday but it would be logged and I asked that a note be made I did not want data credited to me and to be billed prorata as I had made all efforts to terminate on time. I was credited with data and minutes yesterday. I thought I would give them a day to catch up with mails and so phoned the call centre this morning. I spoke to Thando who now advised me that 30 days is required and I should mail back my original consultant who advised me it was not. She was incredibly unhelpful and just said that was that and I had been incorrectly advised and there was nothing I could do except mail the retentions department to ask why I was given the wrong advice. I am not sure which advice is correct but either way I have comp**** because I knew MTN would try and make it hard as possible to get out of my contract. You staff give contradictory answers and I have jumped through every hoop to make sure I do things right. It is unacceptable.
