Migrating from contract to prepaid *******

I called MTN in November this year as I knew that both my contracts were ending in December. The consultant told me that for my 1 number, the contract ends on 03 Decemebr and for the other, on 12 December. On 03 December I called to migrate the first one, and was told that they were actually both up for mugration as the contracts ended that same day. I spoke to the lady called Nkululeko who assured me that she sent an email to have both my cotracts mograted. And said i can on Monday just to verufy. I did not call on Monday but called on Tuesday instead, only to be told by Philisiwe that there was no email sent for my request and that I will be charged pro rata for the time between when my contract ened and when the number was officially migrated. I fail to understand why I must be held liable for someone else's carelessness. My record tells me that I submitted the request for migration on 03 December 216. I think Mtn is trying to milk more money out of me by prolonging the cancelation of my contract. The refence number given to by Philisiwe this morning was: ********** 83.
