MARKETING AND ADVERTISING
Two years ago I app**** for an MTN contract and was given one of your new 060 numbers. For months I wasn't harassed by marketing and advertising sms's. Then all of a sudden one day out of nowhere they started coming in. I addressed this numerous times and it went quiet for a while and then started again and has now become an endless battle to have them stopped. I HAVE NEVER given consent for marketing or advertising on my phone. The only people that have this number are my very close friends and family. So how is it that my number has been passed along to harassers? So after my contract ended at the end of November 2015 I decided to go pre-paid thinking it would be better but it is WORSE! I would like you people to stop all these sms's when I recharge via Standard Bank online. I really am sick and tired of all these sms's. Five in a row when recharging. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN B***T STUFF. Quit harassing me! I didn't join the DMASA for nothing. The way I understand it you people have overstepped the mark and actually have no right to be sending me these sms's even by third party people that you have passed my number along to. Sort it out please once and for all.
Thank you for your post.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.
Please note this is not a MTN notification but you Standard bank notification you need to go to your bank and request from them to remove the SMS notification from your number.
This is the feedback that we have received from our Marketing department :The customer will have to dial *130*603# to opt out of promotional messages received after recharge:
