Ludicrous costs

<p> </p> <p>After fighting months with MTN about my voice mail that does not work once I enter Namibia I eventually was sorted out. Now that I am sorted and had to travel to Namibia again for business, my voice mail activated once I crossed the border. I was really pleased about that. Until I recieved an account of R 13 000.00 !!!</p> <p>On enquiring about why my account is this high I was informed that the cost per minute for roaming changes with the exchange rate. MTN changed the cost per minute from R 7.00 to R 15.00 for roaming. This was applicable since I crossed the border without any notification!!! I was informed that I can lodge a complaint, but that it can take up to 21 days for them to reply and therefore I need to make the payment of R 13 000.00 in order for my services to continue.</p> <p>In all the time that my voice mail was not working I would answer the calls because I have my own business and cannot afford not to answer calls I have NEVER received an account of this amount in the 20 years I have been with MTN.</p> <p>It have requested over the help line 808. They noted the enquiry and informed me that they cannot do anything about the cost.</p> <p>Surely MTN should provide me with proof of notification via sms before going ahead with higher the costs.</p> <p>I guess its time to change my service provider as it looks as if its only MTN charging those rates as the rest of the group of people never had any problems with change of costs.</p> <p>Very unhappy client</p>
