Lost my number for good
Hello Peter, I lost my cell phone due to theft, when I wanted to do a sim swap I couldn't because, I had forgotten what was my price plan and last recharge voucher. the last time a I did a price plan change was 2 years back when I bought a new phone, how am I suppose to remember that and also, do I have to keep record of each recharge voucher I used everyday. Because of this issue I have to change a number or a network.

Thank you for taking time to raise your concerns with MTN.
Kindly note that I tried calling the number provided but it was on voicemail lite.
Please note that in a situation where you have lost your sim card and want to do a sim swap but have forgotten information regarding your sim card, you need to make an affidavit at the police station, stating that you are the rightful owner of the sim card in question and that you have forgotten information relating to the sim card. We will then be able to assist with doing the sim swap.
This has to be done within 90 days of losing your sim card. You need to purchase a new sim card, RICA and not load airtime on it.
For more information you can call 173 and speak to a consultant.
