Limits that were set but not maintained!

Initially when I started my account with MTN I spoke to Gregory Muthen an outbound Call centre agent based in mount edgecomb and upon initialization I requested that the limit be set to ZERO as i wanted the monthly amount for the contract to be the same, set at R269. This seemed to stay as zero for most of the contract until June when the phone went missing and all of a sudden this limit was gone and in that month MTN allowed overseas phone calls to take place and my account was debited R4117.15. The call centre now says that the phone never had a limit on but for the entire length of the contract since the renewal of the contract it has remained at R269 and now all they have to say to me is that there is nothing they can do. I have e-mails between Mr Muthen where we talk about the contract being limited to zero!!!

But what about the charges incurred? I don't feel that these charges should be my liability as someone who is not registered on the phone should not be able to change limits? It shouldn't be something you can change without the registering process to ensure that the registered user is using the contract!
