Lies and Misleading Client - Cancellation Process
On the 23rd November 2015, I contacted the customer service department requesting the cancellation of my contract. The consultant informed me that he sent a request to the cancellation team.
On the 24th November 2015, I received an email from MTN Retentions advising that my contract termination date is on the 10/12/15 and I should call on the 11/12/15 to continue with the request and please note that airtime, data sms will be forfeited.By reading this email, I was led to believe my contract would be terminated upon my request.
Today 11/Dec/15,i call MTN contact centre and spoke to Nomawabo to confirm if my contract was cancelled. She confirmed that the email was to confirm if I wanted to cancel and it could take 24hrs to 30 days.
At this point i'm confused and state that if it only gets cancelled in 30 days,MTN will still bill me on the contract and she confirms yes.I provided her with a solution to resolve this and she stuck to her process. Other things on the call were said but here is no space. I asked for a Manager and get told, i already sent the email the manager will do the same. I asked for her surname and she ddnt want to provide it as the ref number has everything.
