LG G3 - wrong part repaired & now no phone
My LG G3 was sent it for repairs on the 20th July. LG sent a comm out to MTN about a cracking issue in the phones cases and LG said that MTN should replace the casing.<br> <br> The 29th July the phone arrived back at the store with a new IMEI number. What the repair center did was replace the motherboard. This has nothing to do with the cracking issue so why the mother board was replaced ??<br> The store sent the phone back to repairs and thats the last news. <br> I had to chase up myself to find this whole story, and still of now, i have no idea of what is going on with my phone.<br> <br> I dont want a refurbished motherboard in my phone... that was never the issue.<br> I call the repair center and they only know that my phone was sent back on the 29th July and thats all the details they have... no news on my phone as it stands now. Both the old IMEI and new IMEI number show on the repair system as delivered but the store says its back with repairs.<br> <br> Please can someone escalate this and get back to me.<br> <br> <br>

MTN SP After Sales has limited or no repair capability on certain devices e.g. Blackberry, Apple iPhones, Huawei, Alcatel & ZTE. This is in accordance with the manufacturer repair accreditation which governs the level of repairs we are authorised to perform on their devices.
In these instances , the manufacturer has provided us with service stock (refurbished devices) for utilisation, has exchanges when repair capabilities have been exhausted and the devices have still not been remedied or has failed our stringent quality testing.
These refurbished devices are supp**** by the manufacturers themselves in accordance with their warranty policies and have been remanufactured to the same quality standards as the new devices. Refurbished devices are supp**** without any accessories or sales packaging.
Customers' warranty is in no way effected, the balance of warranty on the original device.
