Laptop deal - no stock
In the brochure for December 2018, MTN advertised a Lenovo I5 laptop deal for R429 a month. I waited until beginning of January to be able to do an upgrade. I first checked the January 2019 brochure to see if the same deal was still available. After confirming that the deal was still available for January, I proceeded to the nearest MTN store. I was given forms to sign, and told that they do not keep stock on the premises. I asked them when I could be expecting the laptop, and was told that they will order it from the warehouse. A week later, I popped into the store to check on the progress of the order, and was informed that the warehouse also does not have stock, and that the laptop is on back order. I was told that it should be delivered to the store hopefully by the end of the January. This morning, 3 February, I went into the store to find out was was going on, as no-one has contacted me at all. I was told that the item is still on order from the warehouse, and that the warehouse is also waiting on stock. I asked when they think it will be available, and was told that it could be anything from 1 to 6 months before there is stock available. I think this is absolutely absurd. The same laptop deal is again available in the February brochure. Why advertise the item for 3 months if you do not even have stock of the item, and might not even be able to procure the item as promised? Why do you not inform clients that there might be a waiting period for the item when you are filling in the paperwork? Is the item actually still available. When will I get it. I think this is really ****py service for a company I have been loyal to for a long time. If the laptop is not available anymore, then inform the store staff so they can tell the customers. I want someone to sort this out ASAP. I am sick of being messed around. Either make a plan to get me my laptop as soon as possible, or I might have to try some other options not involving MTN. This is the worst service I have had from MTN ever, and am really upset. I would not even be surprised if no-one from MTN responded to this complaint.
