Lack of response

I have recently upgraded my contract MTN MyChoice+ M to an Huawei P10. I was led to believe via MTN branches at Brooklyn, Menlyn, The Grove as well as the Online Shop that there is officially no stock of the iPhone 7. I was advised to go to an iStore, but received similar information at the Brooklyn and Menlyn branches.

It turns out that this was misinformation - a colleague of mine upgraded to the iPhone 7 and has official correspondance indicating that it is in fact available. Why was I not able to upgrade to the iPhone 7 - it feels that I was **** to and duped into taking a phone that I did not want.
