Lack of Processes and Poor Customer Service

On the 29th of October 2016 I noticed 2 cellphone numbers which were linked to my main account, which I don't know of. I enquired about the two numbers at an MTN shop in Gateway-Dbn, which they found that those 2 numbers/lines were opened somewhere in Krugersdorp on the 27th of October 2016 and I was requested to write an affidavit under the Commission of Oath, which I did and submit on time (31 October 2016) to MTN in Gateway. I received a response from the store stating that's they forwarded my enquiry to the ***** Dept on the 4th of November 2016, and they gave me a reference no.. Upon noticing that I have been invoiced by MTN for these two lines (up to a total of R1957.03), I contacted the Customer Services (on 17 Nov 2016) to find out what had happened and why I have been billed for the two lines cause I reported the matter on time. I was told that the ***** Department had not notified the Billing Department not to bill the two lines cause they were under investigation. The following day (18 Nov 2016) I did a follow up on the matter and I was told by the consultant that the matter will be prioritized by the ***** Department. Upon realizing that nothing is happening on my enquiry, I did another follow up on the 28th of November 2016 and spoke to the Manager Customer Services who said he has sent a request for a refund to the Billing Department and he gave me a ticket number ( ********** ). On the 1st of December, I did another follow up to check whether a credit note for a refund has been created and reflects on my account. The consultant said that the credit note reflects on my account, I shall receive my refund within 24 hours. This never happened. I did another follow up on the 2nd of December and spoke to a consultant who made me wait for like 20mins on the phone, only to tell me that the person who had made an enquiry had made a wrong request, which I found very strange. She promised to call me within 24 hours to ensure that the matter is resolved, which she never did. To this date MTN has not refunded me nor call me to show their willingness and care about their customers. I'm very disappointed at the lack of processes and controls and lack of care about their customers. They have a pathetic service. For a company of it's caliber to act in such a manner is a disgrace. I request to be refunded with immediate effect. Before I take further action.

Today I have done another follow up, and the consultant has told me that nothing has been done he will do a follow up with the Collection Department. I know he won't do it. This is very frustrating. I will publish my story on all the social media networks available, may be MTN might see the urgency of the matter and respond. I don't know whether they are doing this to me cause I'm a black persons. I know if it was another race they would resolved the matter immediately.

5 days is almost up but nothing has happened. No refund, no one has got in touch with me from MTN. MTN is really disrespecting me.

I guess I will have to take this matter up. The media, social networks, the public and the court of law will have to hear my story and the treatment I receive from MTN. This is pathetic. I want my money that's it.

I guess MTN doesn't care about its customers.

After exhausting all avenues available for me to resolve this matter, I have decided to raise the matter with the National Consumer Commission.
