Keep on paying for a cancelled contract

I visited the MTN Mooirivier branch in Potchefstroom on 2 April 2016. I informed the consultant that I would like to cancel my internet contract.

I filled out the contract (which I have a copy of) and left the original with the consultant.

My two complaints are:

1) The consultant missinformed me that I had to give 60 days notive, thus would have to pay for the next 2 months - however, the contract stipulates that only 20 days notice is required. I therefore, paid the outstanding fees required for April 2016.

2) At the end of April I received a bill for this specific contract. In response to my query, the staff of MTN Mooirivier Mall, Potchefstroom informed me that the consultant never submitted my completed form and lodged an enquiry into the system, but it's almost been 2 months and I'm still receiving bills. I again visited the branch, but the new consultant was not very helpful at all.

I expect MTN to sort this out, because this is reflecting on my credit history. I however, do not see why I should keep on paying just because a staff member did not do their job.

Irritated regards

SF Steyn
