Is this ***** or not: MTN?

I have been a client with MTN for quite a long time. When my contract expired last year, I went to the store at Atterbury Value mart. They first told me that I am not ellgible for a new contract, which was wrong. I went to them again to change my contract to a prepaid option and the lady there gave me a number to contact. I did and via telephone we changed the contract to a prepaid contract. Nothing changed and for the past few months I still receive the same billing statements. I have phoned several times to change the contract to a prepaid with no avail. I cannot get through to a service champion. Twice my call went through, I could hear someone answering and then he/she ended the call without evening greeting or listening to me. I have sent emails as well. I get a reply three days later in which they ask me for information and then I reply. Three days later they answer with an email asking more information and then I reply. I used the MTN customer service and had exactly the same experience. Eventually their answer was: "Please accept our apologies for the delayed response. Kindly be advised you can contact our Retentions team on 135 or Email them on *** for further assistance with upgrading/cancellation of your contract." I then sent an email to indicate that I am cancelling the contract. They rep**** to say that someone tried to call me and could not get hold of me. I gave them my number once again and they still have not phoned me. It seems like when you want to upgrade, they call back and help, but when you want to cancel they intentionally delay the process. They take my money every month even when I let them know by email that I am cancelling the contract. To me this constitutes ***** and theft. I was told by MTN that I cannot cancel this in a store, I can only do this by calling 135. I have phone 23 times in the past three months. I sometimes wait 40 minutes at a time for a champion to answer and I get now reply. I am considering legal action now!
