Is it legal

I see MTN overcharged me last month and they will again this month. Although it's only R60 I had to go in to enquire why as I was unable to contact them telephonically due to no answers. They told me that they increased each contract by R20 and that is the overcharge. Their reasoning is that the other networks have also done that. Can they change the terms of a signed contract? I find it unacceptable

Hello CandidaF,

Thank you for posting.

Please accept our apologies for the delayed response and for any inconvenience caused due to the lapse in service.

Over the last few years, our prices have remained relatively stable, despite the challenging economic environment and the continued investment we make into improving our network, however, the reduction in mobile termination rates (MTR), plus the increased costs of investing in our network, driven by the weakening local currency has required us to review our pricing so that we can make sure it is aligned with the competitive landscape.

We are committed to offering value to you and will continue introducing products and solutions that allow you to save costs.
