Irregular MTN Contract Debit Orders!!!
2 years ago I took up two contracts with MTN one for data and another for a handset. I took the contracts at Protea Gardens Mall in Soweto. My very first invoice was calculated based on a pro-rata calculation which was incorrect. Nonetheless my contract debit order went through for the incorrect amount. I returned to the store with the incorrect invoice to lodge a complaint and was assisted by the same lady that helped me take the contracts.
In following up I returned to the store several times with no help whatsoever, but was advised that the complain was logged and I would be called by the billing department agents to help credit back the irregular charge. I was never called by MTN since to help with regards to this matter.
Both the contracts that I pay for are of the total amount for R275.62 however in the month of September 2018 I was charged R550.24, this happened without prior notification or advise from MTN. I let this be as i realized that i was not billed for the month of August. I am not too certain why this happened as I had funds to allow for my MTN debit order.
My monthly debit order date with MTN is the 25th of each month however no transaction went through yesterday. In my mind I thought that they did not want to debit anything from my account as I had, in the past week and a half, upgraded my handset contract to a P10 lite Huawei Dual-Sim handset and was still awaiting the order. I was called by the upgrades department who helped me process this.
This morning when I went into my bank I was astonished to find that MTN had debited my account to the tune of R5613.59 .
My only question is how and why? How am I expected to cover all my other debit orders as a result of insufficient funds or no funds at all? Who is going to pay for all the other bounced debit orders that will be effected? Does MTN realize how they are compromising my personal credit rating and score as a result of their inefficiencies and total disregard?
My faith in the brand has been eradicated. This i say as a stockholder of shares in their MTN Zakhele Share provision. I cannot begin to explain the anguish this is causing me already as i anticipate the bouncing of debit orders that will be going through my account and what financial implications this will have on me.
How can this brand compromise me to this extend????? How???? What constitutes this kind of behavior????
Honestly I really do not need an apology from MTN, NONE!!! MTN should not get in touch with me with an apology!!!
How MTN is going to fix this for me is as follows... I will be credited back all due amounts to my bank account - this includes the irregular charges of my initial and very first invoice. In rectification of the situation MTN will augment this with supplementation and compensation for the compromises suffered by myself in my financial capacity.
Furthermore MTN will cancel my data contract with immediate effect as I am not upgrading this package. As for my handset package MTN will provide insurance for the handset for the duration of the contract. Failure to reach this agreement MTN should cancel this upgrade contract as well.
I do not want to begin complaining about the service received from MTN time and again as I do not want to further entertain the nonsense this brand has to offer. I have been very happy with MTN and have always given them the benefit of the doubt but I can no longer do this ANYMORE!!!
