INTERNSHIP DECLINED DUE TO MTN INCOMPETENCE AND GREED.

I was issued a contract phone by MTN after approval and commenced with using the phone. My contract duration was a 24 month contract from 23/11/11 to 23/11/13.<br> I stoped using the service because I lost my phone some time in 2012 but I kept paying. Three months prior to cancellation date I made a payment of R600 because my contract was R200 a month plan. The payment was made to sibonelo mvubu south gate mall MTN at 2013/07/01 04:20:47 PM and when I wanted to cancel she refered me to the call centre. I called in to the 808 number and spoke to some lady who put me through to cancellations and I was assured that it would be cancelled. Trusting that it would be done I did not keep the reference number of the call an? now I am getting threatening calls from lawyers that I am over due for an amount of R4000 . Now I know a few people who experienced such but with faith in the product that I still use today I never thought it would be me one day to complain. I have completed my studies and I am currently applying for an internship but I fear I will not be considered because of MTN anf their in competence. All I ask is for fair business practice so I can reap the rewards of my effort in get

Hello phefophemelo,

Thank you for your post

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused as a result of this and assure you that it is not our intention to displease you.

The R600 payment was received and it covered the payments for May, June and July invoices. As per the system there was no request for cancelation therefore the contract continued on a month to month basis, there were only enquiries about an upgrade.

We have referred the matter to our legal department for further assistance.

Kind Regards
Siphumezo
