International roaming is a bit of a disaster

Mtn is great to deal with generally but when it comes to international roaming, it is pathetic. You used to be able to activate and deactivate sms roaming using USSD codes. For some reason that doesn’t work anymore and you now have to call the call centre for this function. The only problem is that when you are in international sms roaming, you cannot call the call centre. So how do I now deactivate it? My flight was diverted to a different city today and I am not with my husband. I asked him yo call mtn on my behalf but they would not help him without me being present. So right now if I don’t have wifi, I am completely stuck until I get to my husband or to an mtn store. Best part is that the international sms roaming did not even work!
