Inefficiency is the reason I want to quit MTN!!!!!

So two ********** accounts were opened in my name (obviously without my authorisation). Dimwits who did so exceeded my MTN credit limit and so I learnt of the issue. I queried this with MTN. First my original number was suspended (understandable). Then my original debit along with the ********** excess debited to bank account (also understandable if systems are so rigid that you can't reverse an invoice way before it's even gone through the bank!!). Was told to call head office..did so MULTIPLE times and encountered either no answer, incoherent answer, told to call back again, or will be called back (which inevitably never happened!), or was told that the difference would be credited to my bank account within 3 working days. 12 working days later, still no refund! Now, the cherry on top, is that this happens AGAIN the very next month on the same number MTN admitted was opened **********ly, that was supposedly suspended/blocked/closed!!!<br> To add insult to injury the call centre number 808 will require at least a 20-minute waiting period before you get through to a consultant who might/probably won't be able to help you or you will just get cut off because of the shoddy network!!!

Hello PeterPanther,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I am terribly sorry for the inconveniences experienced as a result this. I completely understand the frustration it causes. Kindly note that the ********** contracts have been deactivated and a refund request has been sent through to or banking team.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Best regards
Mantoa
