Incorrect settlement amount causes arreas on credit record

When I inquired regarding this account that is still deducting when I knew I paid mtn in full the consultant didn't say that the cell number of ********** 784 was a Huawei phone but rather mentioned another phone that I never bought from mtn and even said that the number was active even now and that was in November ..In August I did the sim swap so I didn't recall the number..although I was given the wrong information by mtn as to the settlement amount I was owing and that it relates to the number 060...... he gave me the wrong information as to the phone I bought not the number although I didn't recall it.. which was a phone I never bought from mtn..I know accept that the number 060..... is the number for my mtn phone a Huawei..and I want to settle this amount as I did with the 073...number my problem is that after paying mtn the amount, mtn will just update my credit record as paid but the arrears on my credit record from November will still show..this is not fair hence it was not my intention not to pay the accounts this was mtns fault...I want an answer to that...will mtn instruct the credit bureau to backdate my credit record as showing paid from last year November?..I want to apply for a bond and now I am In the red because my credit record looks very bad as showing arrears from November last year..my intention from the beginning when I asked for the settlement amount was to close off the account so that I can go and apply for a bond..I didn't anticipate doing so would rather take me back worths instead of forward..for all of my efforts now I have to go ten steps back..my credit record is in the red because of mtn
