Incorrect pricing, bad service and nonchalant attitude
Last week Wed, I went into MTN Cavendish Square Claremont to takeout a Contract on Samsung Galaxy A8 (M package for R399incl VAT) as advertised in the MTN July 2018 catalog. I was assisted by a Sales Rep (RUDY) who clearly does not enjoy the job he is doing from his ****ging attitude and baggy jeans to meet the attitude. (I must highlight that I've been assisted very well at this store previously when I took out a contract advertised for R469... and that's what I was billed and paid for). Unpleasant Rudy (after I was patiently understanding of his PC problems and we moved to the 3rd PC) processed my application on the system and gave me the BRANDED RETAIL CHANNEL customer checklist and asked me to sign without explaining the details and when I asked him why must I sign when you haven't explained ...... his response "I'm moss gonna explain now" ..... needless to mention his disinterest. The contract amounted to R401.18 (Rudy never explain) I queried why the contract is not as advertised (R399) Rudy said "that's what the systems brings out..... it must be VAT or something". I queried why would a July catalog not reflect the correct prices when the 15% vat was implemented in April and that the difference between the 2 amounts does not equal to VAT as he mentioned. I can't begin to mention how many times he blundlty kept on saying "YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THE CONTRACT, YOU CAN CANCEL THE APPLICATION" .... I asked him to submit my application for vetting and check what the price difference is for, because its definitely not VAT. I followed up on Thursday it was still pending. Upon receiving my approved SMS on Friday, I followed up again and was told Rudy will be working the noon shift, I came to the store after 3pm and the contract price was still R401.18 Rudy still did not know what the extra charges were but stated it was a small amount and once again repeated "YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THE CONTRACT, YOU CAN CANCEL THE APPLICATION" with an even more appalling attitude.... clearly not ideal for a sales urgent, I ended up cancelling the application and he was more than delighted, as I caught on the chuckle between him and his colleague ......... I so wish Rudy can learn from Stephanie Fry who has great telephone and customer ettiquette
