Incorrect Cancellation Penalties not in line with NCR

My MTN contract is ending on the 16th of January 2026 and i called on the 10th of January 2026 to indicate that I would not be upgrading my contract so my contract should be cancelled upon the expiry of my contract term. The agent who assisted with the cancellation on the 10th of January (Ref No. ***) at 10:30 did not highlight any cancellation penalties as the contract is coming to an end 16th of January. This was to ensure that on the 17th of February i do not receive the minutes & data as per contract as that would be venturing a month beyond the signed contract term period. Furthermore, i believe this is against NCR regulations that MTN is forcing customers an addition contractual month beyond the expiry date of the original date. The 30 days that was informed today on 24th of February 2026 should be app**** on cancellation of contract and there are remaining terms to the contractual term. In my case there is no remaining contractual terms beyond the 16th of January 2026 on the signed 36 months contract term period. So i expect MTN to cancel this outstanding amount of R208.29 on my account A***. The R308.80 contractual amount debited on my account on 02nd of February 2026 was for the billing cycle 17 December 2025 till 16 January 2026 of the contract term and that makes my account paid-up and final. Any further adverse updates on my credit record due to this incorrect and unauthorised cancellation penalties will be queried and escalated accordingly.
