Incorrect Billing and Lack of Service/Resolution

In November 2014 I requested and took out a 1000 minute contract with 1 GB data on the iPhone 6 with MTN through the Apple iStore at Pavilion. The aforementioned details constituted the entirety of contract to which I agreed. The amount to be paid each month was agreed at R1400 between myself and the cellular provider’s (also Apple-employed) consultant. I had since been paying R1400 monthly, as stipulated. In May 2015 I was charged arbitrarily R8150.00 which was debited from my account. I reversed the absurd payment that I can not afford and immediately contacted MTN who informed me that I should take up my query with the iStore through which I obtained my contract. Upon confronting an iStore consultant I was told that the fault lay with MTN whose "system had failed" to implement the agreed upon limit on my data. I have since then made countless attempts to reach a resolution with MTN to no avail. Instead my contract was suspended. All my efforts since contacting MTN have been met with “we will get back to you with a resolution” or “we will respond to your query”. Since cancellation of my monthly payment, due to a lack of resolution, I have received numerous emails from a law firm (Shapiro Shaik Defries & Associates) stating that my account with MTN is in arrears and that I owe an outrageous amount of money.

As I have constantly communicated to MTN, I am most willing to pay the amount initially agreed upon: R1400 times the number of months outstanding. However, I am not prepared to pay for the charges that were incurred unreasonably and as a result of no fault of my own.

Please can this dispute be addressed with priority and not brushed aside as before. I have been caused a significant inconvenience by this process.
