***********

MTN. What can I say. Is there something worse than 'n snotklap. I am mad as hell. This complain is about MTN in general. I know nothing will happen and complaining here will not resolve my issue (MTN cannot even resolve it) but I will feel better and some people might think twice before doing business with MTN. Friday the 29th of April I went to MTN Mooiriver Junction to do an upgrade. They did not have the phone I requested in stock and said they will order me one and get back to me. Taking in to account that it was a long weekend, I went back there on Wednesday to enquire about the phone. It seems like it was not ordered but they phoned MTN Mooiriver who had one in stock. On Thursday 5 May they phoned me and said they have the phone now and I can come and do the upgrade. Arrived there on Thursday at about 15:30 to do the upgrade. At 16:30 they tell me there is a problem. The upgrade has been approved but when they want to release the phone it says that they do not have stock even though they have the phone in their hands. They lock an enquiry on the system and says it will take between 2 -24 hours to be resolved. They will phone me when I can come back. I must take note they close at 18:00. No phone call, so I assumed the matter was not resolved. On Friday 6 May I try to phone them, but each time someone from the call center answers and tell me my call was forwarded to the center, because they are busy at the store. Explain to them the problem and they said I can go and fetch it, since the system says that the upgrade has been approved. Arrive there and the store is closed because they are off line. A note on the door says please visit the store at Mooriver Mall. Go there and they say they cannot assist but Mooriver Junction is back on line I should go there. I arrive at the Junction and they start the whole process again and still the same error. They will resolve it and phone me back. I must please take in mind that they cannot do anything during loadshedding. So at 16:40 after loadshedding I went back. Restarted the process and still they cannot release the phone due to no stock (but they have the device right there). Log another enquiry, but this time they actually phone someone. The person try to resolve it, but with no success. They promise me that they will work on it but since that person goes off duty at 17:00 I must come back the following day (today 6 May) and then the issue will be resolved. When I arrive there the phone will be ready. I arrive there today 6 May. The issue has not been resolved and they phone that person again. He cannot resolve it and another enquiry has been logged and this time they refer it to another department. Again it will take between 2 -24 hours to resolve. This time I did not accept it and told them how disappointed I was in their service. I ask where can I complain. They gave me the customer care number which I phoned, only to hear that they cannot help me either. To cancel the contract and go somewhere else will take 3 working days. Time that I do not have. It seems that MTN are ***********. We pay for their service and this is what we get. I spent more time at MTN to do an upgrade that should take an hour, than I spent renewing my driver's license. So if you ever thought of taking out a contract from MTN, think twice.
