Incompetence or abusive practice?

I have an MTN account where I've decided not to renew a contract that expired more than 12 months ago and is now operating on a month to month basis. This contract has a standing debit order against it which for some reason MTN is simply unable/unwilling to collect. This results in unpaid accounts (because I just expect this to happen automatically) and incredible frustration when they then report you to their debt collectors (Hammond Pole) who are rude and spiteful.

In the last instance the hand over occurred after I discovered that they had messed up again, and paid the account (in full) immediately. After providing their collectors with relevant proofs and strong message to follow up with their client they now to add insult to injury, by conjuring a Final demand and summons for the grand total of R-16.00 from thin air.

MTN this is formal notice that you've lost a longstanding customer and gained an enemy and all because you decided to not collect on the payments that I was willing and able to make.

Thank you for your post.

We sincere apologized for any inconvenience incurred.

Kindly be advised that the debit order was active on the account, debit order was requested but due to the debit orders come back unpaid the account was placed on cash method.

The account is on a month to month contract.

The account is paid up and balance is R0.00

We have sent the request to the legal department to clear the account from legal status and to send the request to Hammond Pole collections department to close their file and stop calling you.

Kind Regards,
