Impossible to cancel MTN contract

I contacted MTN in Dec 2019 to cancel my data contract expiring in Jan 2020. I've tried to contact them ever since but my call remain unanswered for up to 45min (then I hanged up) waiting for the retention department. MTN makes it impossible to cancel a contract.
