IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL EXPIRED CONTRACT
If you take out a contract with MTN, you should know that cancelling is impossible, and customer service means nothing - it is incredibly unpleasant to try deal with them.
My one contract (I have two) ended in June. I tried to give them 30 days notice. I got a response to say I need to email or call retentions. I did. 3 emails just ignored over a period of 3 months. And yes, you can call, but they can't possibly have anyone logged into the queue. I always give up after an hour wait. This is not isolated - this has been the experience for 3 months now - calling any time of day.
This cant even be legal. According to CPA, MTN needs my consent to continue with the contract once the period has ended. I dont consent. And I have been trying for months to give them notice. Oh yes, I tried to go into the Rivonia service centre, which is meant to be a flagship centre. Can't help. They can also only call retentions. which they did and after 50 minutes I told the lady I need to leave for an appointment. So they opened a query. And I just received an sms to say my query has been closed - and to please call the call centre....
That monthly contribution that you happily collect, MTN, is theft. I have written correspondence proving that I have tried to cancel. You choose to ignore that and continue to debit my account
