Impossible to activate sim card

I did an upgrade and now it is such a hassle to get this sim card activated. If the workers are striking then why even sell a new phone if the client cannot use the damn phone! I also went to the mtn store in centurion and they said they cannot assist. What nonsense is this. People dont get phones to just look at them, I need to use the phone immediately!
