******* **** SANCTIONED BY MTN
This week I have been "subscribed" to 1. YD GAMES and 2. CHOCONILLA without going onto any new or ***** sites or playing games on my mobile. The YD Games wanted to - and did - charge me R2 per day; the CHOCONILLA (have no idea what either of these are about) charged R5 per day. I have not subscribed to either and there is a number on the SMS message to "unsubscribe" - *464*970# . The thing is, if you dial this number there are absolutely no options to unsubscribe, or do anything in fact. The only way to get out is to dial MTN and get them to cancel this. Surely this is *******? If somebody wants to charge you money for something you haven't even asked for, there has to be another way of cancelling it short of actually phoning MTN??? And the fact that the SMS says "Call 135 for help" means that this is being sanctioned by MTN - is this how MTN is trying to recoup the money they lost in Nigeria? Or maybe this is a Nigerian **** that is being tried here now to see how many people they can catch. It might only be R2 or R5 a day, but if I hadn't noticed the message I wouldn't even know that this was happening. How many other people are paying for "content"?? - I don't know what the hell it is - they don't realise they are getting.
