******* blocking of IMEA phone numbers.

I bought a new Samsung S20FE late last year year just after its release from a local retailer. I reused my Telkom SIM ( ex Huawei phone) with no issues. Early 2021 I started having connection problems with Telkom ..although I used the phone mainly on wireless with no issues. After trying lots of fixes even replacing the Telkom SIM I took the phone to Samsung as it was under warentee. Eventually they had problems getting a connection but found out the phone had been blacklisted by MTN. I went to MTN and wanted to know why...I jumped through their hoops including a police Affidavit confirming I bought the phone new. No formal explanation from MTN (apparently they unblocked my phone remotely) or offer to recompense me for lost Telkom airtime I paid for due to their incompetence...I have since been told it's not uncommon as few checks are done before ublocking IMEA numbers....what a farce!
