Identity Theft - MTN contract opened in my name
End Nov I was debited by MTN, and logged a complaint online hoping someone would phone me. (REQ:***) I reversed the amount and went on holiday. Again end Dec another debit was charged. This time almost twice the amount. I reversed it again. On 04/01/2016 I went to a MTN store in The Glen shopping center, who traced the cell number on my ID, and advised me they will need an affidavit and certified copy of my ID. I then obtained the needed documents, went back. They logged the event to their ***** department (REQ: ***) I asked them if they could block the sim or something to stop further usage of the sim. They advised that they cannot do so. Only their ***** department could. They gave me their call center # with the ref to follow up. Up to today 22/01/2016 I have not heard anything back. I called the call center and could only tell me that the log was still open. they gave me the # for their ***** hotline, who gave me another two number which does not even exists phoning from a landline. I cant get to the correct people to speak to, and no one is getting back to me!!! Lucky for me I work for a family business and the calls has been recorded. Guess I must take a drive to HO!?
