I would like to WISH EVERYONE at MTN all that they have dealt out to all their UNHAPPY and UNSATISFIED clients in ABUNDANCE for the year in 2018 – may it SHINE DOWN on you in 2018 and follow you for all the days ?
MTN SP are SHOCKING – this being POLITE. I was with Altech Autopage for over 10 years and my account was in excess of R 2200 p/m - due to poor service I chose to move service providers. MTN ensured me they would look after me. They recommended I take out a NEW contract / number with them and reduced my existing contract down to the bare minimum (then being of around R 200 p/m (purely to keep business clients who I may not have been able to inform advised over the next foreseeable period – via voice message – call forward etc. In August 2016 I gave Autopage notice to cancel / that I would not be renewing the contract with them. They asked that I send them a mail in October - which I did - also the Customer Service Manager (Sobi - whom negotiated the new deal for me, was aware of this as it was the sole reason of me migrating to MTN). I am NOT one to spend hours checking my accounts on a month to month basis and especially as this debit order is under R 300 – so it’s not like I would really notice it and I do have a MTN debit order going off (other cell) – long story short I eventually notice – reason for this is that I get an email in March 2017 saying due for an upgrade – and I have a read and it is on the OLD cancelled number – I then start going through the Cell accounts and notice two – go through the bank statements and notice two debit orders going off every month – so now it’s off to war – I start returning the unauthorised debit orders and stop payment with the bank …… / start writing emails to MTN / copying them in on all the previous e-mails and cc’ing the relevant people / making calls etc – what a mission ….. Also – these new electronic statements – NOT easy to see which statement is for which cell (if you have more than one – also on a smart phone – must get a pin and then download …. A nightmare – especially if you are long sighted and short arms ? – and if you have a set limit every month it’s not too much of an issue and with 300 emails every month does everyone really get to it – one would LIKE to have an ELEMENT of trust (SADLY one should KNOW better – what is our SA coming too ☹) Anyway - I am now possibly at least 15 / 20 emails in and 2 ½ hours on calls – there are various people involved (at least 5/6 but major players are listed below. Not that naming and shaming may get anything done – as no one is accepting responsibility -… ?? But I won’t stop here…. Will keep you posted though …
MTN – Letta Selepe - Retentions & Winback Agent – E-mail - ********** (Cell Account No: C ********** ) MTN’s Attorneys - NORTON-LAMBRIANOS (S.A.) INC - MTN Administrator - Boniwe Ramokone - e-mail ********** (Ref MF098219) MTN Innovation Centre – Sobi Maleme – E-Mail - **********
HOWEVER - nothing got resolved here and after ALL this time and NO FEEDBACK - or anyone taking any form of responsibility it landed up at their attorney’s offices - and I received an e-mail on the 23rd November 2017 from them with a DEMAND to pay MTN an amount of R 1 456-74 within TEN days !!! - and yet they OWE ME over R 2 000.
Yesterday I wanted to purchase a contract and get my grandson a cell phone for a Christmas present to teach him responsibility (as most of his class mates have cells for google / watsapp etc) - only to be advised that I CAN'T due to being HANDED over by a Service Provider and BLACK LISTED ...... I HAD a VERY GOOD credit Score / Rating not a month ago !!! How DARE MTN do this - what gives them the right / power to Blacken MY NAME because of their STAFF being unable to do THEIR Jobs / because of THEIR inefficiencies / lack of communication / accepting responsibilities ???
Over the past few months I have had to spent hours / days / weeks ATTEMPTING to sort this out yet NO ONE has had the common courtesy of even attempting to do the same – they merely choose to IGNORE me and FOB it off or hit the DELETE key or type a few lines and hit SEND and make it someone else’s problem – who does exactly the same thing ?? !!
I can only NOW assume that MTN adopt this business practice - as it is possibly the only effective manner in which they are able to get irate customers (soon to be ex) to pay their LONG outstanding and overdue accounts. Out of sheer and utter pure frustration – are they now just hoping that I will this R 1 500 just so that I can get the BLACK LISTING removed and carry on with my LIFE – otherwise NO new car / cell contract / house / job / bank account / decent interest rate ??? What a JOKE – they don’t even have to do THEIR JOBS … WHO do they ANSWER to ???
I started trying to sort this out initially in MARCH ......
