I wish I hadn't renewed my contract!

i've been a customer for nearly 20 years, and i recently renewed my contract for another 2 years (after 5 months of month-to-month). i had to take a different package to what i'd been on because it no longer exists but i was ensured that it was on par with my previous one.

a week after signing, i wasn't able to send text messages due to "insufficient funds". i had to call in twice to have it resolved, and was told that my line required rebooting and was asked to switch off my phone. problem was fixed after the second time it'd been done.

it's a week later now, and the same issue occurred but now i wasn't able to connect to internet nor open any apps. i called in, and was told the same as per prior communication. this time it din't work, and when attempting to make a call i got a notification that i had insufficient funds again.

i called again and was told that my limit needs to be increased, which i then requested to be unlimited, based on my previous instruction for previous contracts. the consultant informed me that she increased it to R0.00 (??), which according to her meant that it is now unlimited (??). an hour went by and nothing changed so i called again, only to be told that my limit was reduced to R0.00, which means that i cannot make any calls (!!).

then i was told that i can only increase it by R135.00 because of the package i was on, and if i go over that amount for 3 months and prove that i can pay it my limit will be increased permanently... You'd think that 20 years of history would be sufficient proof, or if that's too much work .... then at least the last 2 years average monthly spend...!

when i requested to speak to a supervisor i was told that Supervisors don't deal with queries like this one....

be treated like this after nearly 20 years of being a customer with a proven and spotless account history is simply shocking and only proves that customer care in MTN is non existent and they truly don't know their customer.

Good day Agnieszka

Please note  your unbilled invoice / average spend must be higher than the current credit limit for 3 consecutive months in order for a credit limit increase to take place.
