I was added a data I do not need and was refused a reversal, told it was policy

Complain against Mtn ****: dubious marketing to get us to buy data we often cannot reverse of it's loaded by mistake...

I normally buy wi-fi data, in the past it was MTN and later changed to Telkom. I stopped buying MTN data after I was told that since I was buying 15 Gigs ( 7 day/ 7 night) I was allowed to charge until I finish all my night data...when I protested that I worked and was not going to spend nights on data, I was told it was policy.

That was some 5-6 years ago, now since I have an MTN number, I use their extra time often to keep my number active and pay for that extra time which I often use once or twice a month....

I tend now to struggle making certain call like toll-frees or even calling their customer service because MTN blocks certain services, sms, even when you pay, because you don't make calls often you don't always see that certain services are blocked.

The final nail, was today 07 August 2025, I was on my phone working, and did not see a pop-up message offering me about 2 gig a day and 2 gigs a night...

My phone did not allow me to call MTN saying server not available until I used a colleagues mobile.

I asked to have this transaction removed to be told, they cannot reverse it. Surely, this is dubious marketing, if I cannot block pop ups offering me data, and if I happen to pocket touch my phone, and be given a data I don't need, and cannot reject a transaction that is ****ming, worse, I did not have data or airtime, I was using WiFi, now I have a ****mer called MTN R48 for some horrible data I do not need.

I have a horrible number, network, that does not often work, but the ****ming MTN still finds ways to **** me while blocking some of my services while it milk me.

I don't want these ads, I must be allow to block them, I must be allow to reject promotions I don't need, I cannot pay for services I do not need masquerading as advertising...that's a violation of fair and truthful business ethics...
