I want to port my number

This useless network. My sim it's been offline for a week now. I just relocated to Limpopo my children are still in Gauteng they can get hold me nor call me. I used this very sim to apply for their schools meaning they won't get hold of me. I went to Vodacom to port my number they have sent request to mtn I received an sms that MTN is refusing to port my number. What must I do as a client? I must stay being 😖 miserable. How can I change my contact number of more than 20 years if they don't want to port my number
