I regret my upgrade

I was a client with Autopage for over 10 years and was recently migrated to MTN direct due to Altech's mobile business closing. I was really happy to hear this, as I thought MTN would render much better service than Autopage - whom I had no good experience with ever. However - it seems MTN's service is even worse. For starters you cannot upgrade on the internet - nope - you have to physically go to an MTN store? Really? This is 2016?! So I went to the store on Thursday 23 June 2016 - thankfully is was a pleasant and efficient experience. I had to do a sim swap with the upgrade (to a nano sim) and this is where my problems started. All incoming calls display "unknown" on my phone. MTN seems to keep their store numbers a secret - and I am unable to call the store I went to. Eventually I dailed 808 and spoke to a lady on Saturday 25 June. She said "she will be able to assist me". She gave me a reference number : REQ ********** and said I must wait between 2 and 24 hours. Still no change. I called again on Monday 27 June, spoke to Kaya and he promised to escalate the matter. He gave me a new ref number REQ 199 238 088. STILL no change... I called again today 29 June and spoke to Pumzile - who said I must try do it myself on MTN active.... There is no such option on MTN active!!!

Wow... So here I am, still unable to see who calls me, and I dont know what to do.

MTN - the saying goes" first impression, last impression...." Let see how this upgrade experience concludes.

If you actually read this (instead of sending me an automated response) then also answer this:

- How come contract users cannot upgrade online?

- Why does youre store locator not work?

- How do we call your stores? The 083 numbers on your website just rings...

- Why was my settings changed with the sim swop? Who authorised this?

- Why are your systems offline almost daily?

- Why is your MTN Active portal so useless?
