I just upgraded without signing

I was about to upgrade to a new phone but was told I was 5 months in arrears. I was told to pay R3020 to be up to date and to pay it through Hammond Pole attorneys. I did and I forwarded the proof of payment to the attorneys. I was gladly assisted by a lady with the name of Phuti. She told me after 3 working days meaning I paid on the 16th of September and the account will be updated on MTN's side by then. I got a call on the same day from the same attorneys turns out I had to pay collection fees of some sort of R1040.00. I paid it on the same day and I was told to wait the designated time frame. I was due for an upgrade on the 09-10-2016. Upon the end of the 3 day waiting I called the MTN Goldfields Mall Welkom to check if my contract was back with them. I was surprised to the fact that I had upgraded and my next upgrade was scheduled for 07-07-2018. I did not sign or notified. At the store they told me to get an affidavit stating the situation and a complaint was sent. Since the beginning of October the company could not state how much must I pay, what phone I took or if it's a system error/*****. I just wonder how much I must now pay Pm since the debit orders aren't running, my sim is not RICA'd and all I get at the branch is that they will call. I've heard of cellphone companies abusing retail laws but I did not see MTN in this light. I am truly disappointed.
