I cant Breathe MTN
MTN FAILED ME
I have always had confidence with MTN and as a result I have been their loyal customer for over 16 years now. 6 years as a prepaid customer and 11 years as a contract subscriber. Infact my recent contract renewal was in January 2020 as I was due for an upgrade. I then took a data package for R199 which was to be debited from my FNB account as it has been happening prior the upgrade. From February 2020 I was correctly billed until October 2020 where my account was debited R199 monthly. Troubled started when my accounted was now debited for R1180 instead of R199. FAILURE TO DEAL WITH ***** CASE: I am very angry simply because had someone at MTN did their job when I first reported a suspicious ***** activity with my account I would not be having the ills, stress and frustrations that I am having right now. To set the record straight, I personally called MTN on 29 September 2020, after receiving a strange call on my mobile number on the very same day, where the caller said he was calling me from MTN to confirm a new package of a Samsung note 20 that I should authorise, which I disputed. I told the caller that I had not ordered any extra contract, other than the one that I had renewed earlier in January. Through my call to MTN I informed the consultant Nothando Sibiya that I categorically stated I had no knowledge of such a new package. I was very clear that I had not authorised such a transaction and pleaded with her to CANCEL IT. She then promised to escalate the matter to the anti-***** department of MTN and that they will get back to me, adding that this will be done within 3-5 working days. She gave me a reference number of my call REF: ***. So when my bank account was debited for R199 in October I assumed the issue of the ********** activity had been resolved following my call (September 29). To my shock as of 26 November 2020 my account was debited with R1180 instead of R199.I made a call to the call centre the very morning to enquire about this huge debit payment in my account and was informed by their consultant by the name of Philisiwe that the payment was for two contracts that I have with them. The first one being the Data contract where I am to pay R199.00 (which I am aware of off) and signed for at Carnival Mall. She then said the other is for R982.00 which I allegedly authorised on 29 September 2020...—I categorically disputed that I have this contract and gave her the reference which had been given to me from my call of the 29th September. She acknowledged that the matter was indeed reported to the ***** department but stated that it was not closed- meaning it was still under investigation. So in other words from September 29 to November 26 when the payment went through MTN ***** Department had failed to resolved the matter. I was advised to get a police affidavit which I did and submitted to MTN on November 29. I unfortunately had to make a stop payment and subsequently my account was suspended. It is sad from December 1, 2020 I have made several calls to MTN, I have written 13 emails- which are all read and in all- the response in all is that the matter will be resolved within 3-5 working days. Without having resolved the issue of ***** which has been pending since 29 September 2020, MTN because they have all the resources have have written a final notice, demanding that I pay R29 990 for a product that I don’t have.
I did my part when I reported a suspicious ***** activity on September, had someone not slept on his/her job I would not be where I am right. Why am I being made to suffer for having done the right thing. Im so sick right now, I cant breathe, my credit profile is messed up. Thank you MTN I Guess this is our goodbye MENZI NKOSI….
