HUGE DATA CHARGES ON A SUPPOSED CAPPED CONTRACT

Copy of letter to MTN dd 29.10.15 follows:<br> This requires an explanation by close of business tomorrow, failing which I shall be having to once again turn to hellopeter.com for assistance to get MTN to resolve<br> Contract is for limited data usage which was R100 per month from May 2013. In May 2015 this was increased unilaterally to R125 per month. PLEASE VIEW BILLING FROM CONTRACT INCEPTION<br> In September 2015 there were additional charges of approximately R200 levied and in October there are charges (additional) of more than R700 levied ON A LIMITED USAGE ACCOUNT<br> I HAVE MADE NO CHANGES TO THIS CONTRACT SINCE INCEPTION AND REQUIRE AN IMMEDIATE EXPLANATION AS TO WHO AUTHORISED ADDITIONAL SERVICES AND CHARGES ON MY ACCOUNT?<br> A full credit is to be passed immediately for the last two months additional charges, and the contract to be rectified to its original terms and conditions<br> (Personal details removed)<br> I EXPECT AN EXPLANATION AND ACTION TODAY<br> Please note that this query was also logged last night with NOXOLO SOLOMON in your call centre, who advised me you were off line and that she would revert to me after 2pm today END<br> for 2.5 yrs this contract ran as expected then these charges<br> <br>

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused and for the delay with the matter being resolved.

Kindly note that our rates changed from the 1st of April 2015. Our entire subscriber base was notified of the change via SMS on the 1st of April 2015 and communication was posted on our blog with the necessary increases reflect. You can also refer to your subscriber agreement form and read through clause 4 (Charges) - 4.2. MTN SP may change any Charges, which changes will be effective from the date stated in a written notice to you.

We've also now looked at the past 2 invoices (September & October 2015) and see that you exceeded your 2GB data bundle provisioning, continued making use of the service and the additional usage was added to the account.

The usage has been validated and deemed correct please refer back to the validations done for you on the 29th of October 2015. (Reference number: ***).
