How to lose customers

I have had a MTN cell phone though Auto page for over 20 years now. However I thought it easier to renew my contract direct with MTN. I gathered my ID, Fica stuff and 3 months bank statements as required and went to Northgate. Speak to a nice lady who inputs my answers to several minutes of questions. Press a button and my request for a contract is declined! I must now deal with Trans Union to find out what the issue is. The lady promised to call me having sorted it out the next day.
I leave and find out that in March 2014 I was late on a Telkom account on one of my houses this was as a result of the postal strike! No problem I thought ...... but no call back from MTN. I go back, deal with a second nice lady after waiting 30 minutes and exactly the same thing happens! I give my credit report which apart from that Telkom thing is absolutely clean. The report is taken to the manager and after a 20 minute wait I am promised a call by the end of the day...... no call still no call.
Now I have been with MTN through Autopage since the start of cell phones in SA. I have never defaulted once I Bank with a Private bank and buy my cars cash. How to lose a customer!
