How ridiculous

I have changed my one contract to a pay as you go, they took the airtime that was left, (*****ing the airtime that I have paid for as per my contract) and I have stick to my part of the contract by paying my account on time and cancelling the contract once the 24 month period has passed. We however keep on getting sms's saying that the phone is due for an upgrade. And upon phone the customer care, according to them they never received instructions from MTN Menlyn where we filed the request to make it a prepraid phone, but on their system it is a prepaid phone, so how can you make a contract phone a prepaid phone without getting the instructions. We also requested that we don't loose our airtime that we paid for (MTN is not abiding by the consumer law in this matter) and they just ignored I request which they don't have any record off......How useless the service...

Hello justme999,

hank you for your post.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.

Thank you for your time online. We do pick up on the account note that the MTN store agent has attached the prepaid migration form signed by yourself to go ahead with the pre-paid migration. As per the terms and conditions form signed you agreed to the pre-paid migration rules and you have crossed out number 8 where the terms and conditions for the prepaid migration do state that any data or airtime left on the sim card will be lost. You were aware of this clause.

The client had the option to use up the data and airtime first before the migration is done. The system bill the account in arrears and data and airtime received in advance.

No credit will be passed for the lost airtime for cell ***.

Kind Regards,

Alice van der Merwe
