Horrible Service - New Customer
Yesterday, I went to MTN store in 3 rivers to apply for a pocket router. Upon finalizing the contract, the lady at the counter provided me with a plug in router. I advised her that it won't work for my needs as I wanted a pocket router. She advised me that the contract is signed and there's nothing she can do now. She said to call their customer care on 135 today and get a reference and bring it back to her. Today I called 135 at around 14:16, after being on the phone for more then 30 minutes, Sethi from cancelations said I had to call *** to cancel my contract. I called, only to be told the number is incorrect. I redialed 135 and proceeded to cancelations again and got through to Yolanda around 14:40 (Call ref: ***). she verified all my information, only to tell me that I have to return to the same branch for a reference number and then call Cancelations Department back. I told her that the branch told me to get a reference from her, which clearly shocked her. I then asked if I could speak to a supervisor to verify this process, because the branch is far from me. she said they're on break. I then asked for a manager, she said they're also unavailable. I asked for the surname and she said she's not allowed to say. As for the call reference I requested, I have no idea if that is even correct, as she clearly had no intention of assisting me. I then asked for the direct contact of a Supervisor I could call, she said I should call Melinda on the same call center line in an hour. I then told her I will hold for Melinda, after which she dropped the call. As a new customer, not only was I disgusted by the appalling attitude and level of service received. But I'm completely shocked at the lack of knowledge about processes and procedures by the staff on the ground. I must say that I am very apprehensive about doing business with MTN if this is how they treat new customers!
