Horrible service at MTN Cresta Mall

I've received the worst experience from MTN at their store in Cresta Mall. Went to upgrade for an iPhone 11 black friday deal on the weekend of the 28th Nov. Got sold a deal and the sales person captured it on the system in store and then told me to wait till the next week Monday for a call. Next week Monday, there's no call. So I call and ask why was I not called and did the phone arrive. I get told sorry for not calling and there's still no stock. I'm told I'll get a call the next day. Next day same story. I don't get a call. I call in. And the conversation is a repeat of the day before. I'm told I'll get a call the following day. It's Wednesday the 2nd Dec, I don't get get a call, so I wait till the next day. Still no call on the Thursday the 3rd Dec, so I call. Once again the conversation is the same. "Sorry for not calling u sir, but there's still no stock, it's coming next week, we will call u". I wait till the next week Wednesday, and call back. Once again the conversation is the same. "sorry for not calling you, there's still no stock, we will call u next week". I wait through the next week and don't receive a call. I call back on the 14,26, and 30th December. Every call was a call I made, when I was supposed to be called and have my expectations managed. Each time I got lead along to wait another week. In the 1st week of January I make another visit to the store. I ask another sales person to check my contract that was captured and tell me if my deal is still secure and when is the phone arriving? This is now the 1st week of January. He says "yes, it's approved, wait for your phone, it will come this month". Then I get a call from the MTN corporate sales department, on the 21st of January. The sales agent says, that they called because I'm a valued client and they see my contract is due for an upgrade and if I don't upgrade they going to terminate my current contract so I need to take an upgrade. So I explain my story to her. She looks at her system, and then says but that attempt you made to upgrade in store is cancelled already on the 9th December. So I say no. I was at the store in January and I was told that my captured contract is approved. I'm supposed to wait for a call during January to pick up the phone. She insists that her system is correct. So I tell her that, I'm done with MTN, I'm going to post on hello Peter and switch to vodacom. So she obviously does her best to keep me as a customer, conjures up a better deal at a higher cost then the original one with less benefits on the same phone. So I ask her, but how do you have stock. She says well we have, I can get the phone to you in 8 to 14 days. I decided, to just call the store back to confirm if there's any truth to what I just heard. So, I call the store, the same sales person who helped me the first time, promises, once again, that he would call or email me shortly , confirming if the deal is approved or cancelled. I wait. I wait for more than an hour so I decide to wattsapp the number to say listen where's my communication. Anyway he then sends an email, confirming the cancellation and that his store never got stock, but there's a new batch of stock corporate sales received. Now, what am I as a customer supposed to? I have been promised all this time by the store that the phone would come, that I would get a call, that they trying other stores for stock, that my deal is approved, but from the 9th of December my deal was actually cancelled. And if it had not been for a telesales agent's call that prompted my call back to the store, then when was the store going to tell me that my deal is in fact cancelled. After being an MTN customer for so many years, that I've lost count of, I am so upset by this experience. I have been lead along for almost 2 months on a pack of lies. In fact the sales agent on a recorded line confirmed that the store mislead me and that she apologises on their behalf. What does sorry do, for an experience like this? Personally, the sales person at the store is grossly *********** in managing customer expectations. The manager was never involved. MTN, you need to know, that this is the type of experience and false promises that's gonna hurt your business model. Train the staff and the manager on customer service at the MTN shop in Cresta Mall.
