Horrible service

I received an email from mtn at the beginning of May telling me that my contract is due for an upgrade. I went to the Mtn store in chatsworth centre to do the upgrade on 20 may 2017. After signing n completing the documents, the girl that assisted me told me that the upgrade didn't go thru because there was a problem with my credit limit. Which I didn't understand because my limit was way over R2000 n the handset that I wanted was only R800. Anyway she told me it will be sorted by Monday 22 May n she will contact me to let me knw wen I can pick up the phone.
She never called me back. I called her on Monday afternoon n she said she doesn't have feedback. Evry day was the same story. No feedback n I can't get the phone. By 26 May I was too irritated n told her to cancel the upgrade. The next day I went to galleria mall mtn store to see if i could do the upgrade there as i was told that the service in that store was amazing. the guy who assisted me tried to do the upgrade but couldn't because chatsworth store logged an inquiry which was not closed.
Eventually I got tired of waiting for anything to happen since No1 bothered to tell me what's happening with upgrade or cancellation, I called mtn retentions department on 2 june 2017 to cancel my entire contract. The lady I spoke to, Alice Maholeho was very friendly n understood my frustration but offered to assist with the upgrade instead of cancelling. She upgraded the contract for me n told me I would get the phone within 3 to 5 working days.
Then RTT phones me on 6 June telling me the handset will be delivered on 7 June. I didn't go to work instead I waited at home for the delivery. But nothing. No calls, emails, smses or deliveries from mtn or RTT. When I called rtt on 8 June I was told that the vehicle that was delivering was involved in a hijacking n goods were ****** n mtn has been notified. They are nw waiting for replacement handsets from mtn. I called mtn around 5 times between Thursday an Friday n spoke for hours. Not a single person could help me in finding out what's happening with the handset or delivery. N now I'm going to be debited R800 for something that I don't have.
The staff at mtn direct n retentions call centres refused to help. Each time I called they want to transfer me to the "delivery department" which is rtt n rtt gives me the same damn answer all the time. They waiting for replacement phones from mtn. I understand the vehicle was hijacked n it's nt mtn or rtt fault. But the least they could do is give feedback to their customers. I've had endless problems with mtn in the past n from 3 contracts, I only kept one because if there's a problem, mtn doesn't help. I had to cancel the other 2 because of problems with mtn billing department. Now it seems a problem with retentions and upgrades too.
Today I was on the phone mtn for 58 minutes. Still no answer as to why this is taking so long. The service is really pathetic.
