Horrible and Traumatic service
To whom it may concern,
What a HORRIBLE AND TRAMATIC experience am receiving from MTN after i took out the data sim contract that has turned to a nightmare and no help has been offered instead am being sent to pillar to post and that is time consuming meanwhile am wasting my airtime calling with no help.
Mid November, I took a contract data *** 08 9) from MTN for R150.00 per month for 24 months. I was informed that the contract was for 20 GB, split between 10 GB Day and 10 GB night. Shortly after, I experienced a problem with the sim card. Upon phoning MTN to report the problem, they told me the sim card has been block due to nonpayment. When I enquired as to the outstanding amount, I was told that I owe them R8 700.00. I requested an explanation about the R8 700.00, and the response was that it is a spending limit. When I initially started the contract there was no mention of a spending limit or what it stands for. I mediately went back to the MTN store to get their assistance off which thus far is useless. They told me that there is nothing that they can do for me, and I simply have to pay the money. I asked them to close the spending limit but again they said they cannot even help with that unless I pay the R8 700.00. I called the call Centre for assistance, and they told me to write an email and complain about the situation whereby they would then write off the money. This happened numerous times. On my last call to the call Centre, I was instructed to go back to the store and explain the situation to the store manager. The store manager was unavailable, the staff gave me a number, ***, to call, which I discovered was a general customer care number, the customer care personal gave me another number, ***, to phone. This number remains unanswered.
I feel that through no fault on my side and a lack of information and communication form the store is creating a nightmare. The account increases at an alarming rate and now stands at R9 465.67, but all my attempts to resolve it is met with bureaucracy.
Yours sincerely
M.T. Khanyile ***/ ***
