High Volume Repair Centre

We handed in a phone to be fixed that is still under warranty. My husband used the phone, put it on the table and when he picked it up later to make another call, the screen was blank.

We received a quote from the High Volume Repair Centre for an amount of R7 530.00. I tried to contact the number on the sms received ( ********** 349) numerous times. If you do get through, you hold on for 15 minutes and the line cuts off. In the middle of the day if you phone you get a message to say that the operating hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, please call again. On the first occasion I did get through, it was just before 17:00. I spoke to a consultant who said hold on, he will check. After holding on for some time, the call was just cut; I checked the time and saw that it was 17:00. Wonderful service I must say, when the clock strikes 17:00, you are just cut off.

I managed to speak to a consultant who said that we must pay for the repairs as the screen inside the phone is cracked. I told them that the phone wasn’t dropped or bumped or anything that could cause the screen to crack; I won’t just accept that I must pay for it if we didn’t cause it to break. She said that she will request the repair centre to contact me. A week later still nobody contacted me and I tried phoning again with huge frustration of never getting through to the centre. Eventually I spoke to another consultant who also said that they would ask the repair centre to phone me. Still waiting… Since then I’ve tried countless times to get through to the number with no success. Then they have the audacity to charge me R330 “Service Charge” if I don’t accept the quote… One way or another they find a way to ***** you.

I keep getting the sms’s with the quote, but not the requested phone call. I am now slightly fed up with the pathetic service we’ve been receiving from MTN for the last year. My one contract is due for upgrade, but I am seriously contemplating moving my entire contract to another service provider.

Enough is enough.
