High Interest Rates, ******

I have a contract with Mtn, I was unemployed for 6 months, so I had no way of paying my Mtn contract, my installment is R850 per month and obviously, with me not being able to pay, my phone service has long been suspended.

So now Mtn wants me to settle an amount of R15 836.43, according to Shapiro Shaik Defries.

Now if my monthly installment is R850 x 6 months that I was unemployed, that adds up to R5100, so does that mean that in 6 months time, the interest has added up to R10 000, that makes no sense.

Futher more, SSD does not want to speak to me about a payment plan, I have started working this month only, I have told them that i want to continue with my contract, but according to SSD i have to pay up the arrears amount in one installment, I have asked for a statement, to date I have not received anything.
