Hidden costs - that MTN is not upfront about
My contract was due to expire end November. I called MTN to cancel (in October) to give the months Notice.
Someone from MTN called some days later convincing me to upgrade and gave me a good deal where my subscriptions would increase by only R20. I get the new iPhone and more minutes…great.
Went through the terms and conditions….no where did the sales guy say that I would be paying a once off fee for migration. I would have just canceled the contract all together.
I get my first statement now and see i need to pay a once off migration fee of R600 odd ….for what.
The call centre lady said i got charged for upgrading early…what bs. I wanted to cancell and MTN came groveling to me.
I find it very sneaky and disingenuous that this was not relayed to me over the call.
In fact I want to hear the recoding- after all the sales guy says it’s being recorded and at certain points asked to confirm yes or no.
I got a reference number for the call ***
I want this amount reversed.
